About Water Street Studios
Housed in a historical building dating to 1886, Water Street Studios, located at 160 S Water St, Batavia, IL, began as a shared vision of a group of interested community members, talented artists, a generous property owner, and the City of Batavia in 2007.
This vision turned into a plan when the Batavia Artists Association and Water Street Studios were founded and opened to the public two years later, in 2009.
The WSSAC was established in 2016 to foster a mutually supportive environment that encourages community, gallery involvement, and professional growth. The Collective compliments Water Street Studios™ mission and reputation as an award-winning gallery and hub of artistic creation, education, and appreciation. It has become an integral cultural hub that draws, enriches, and supports renowned artists, experienced art teachers, talented students, and the art and culture-loving public from all over the Fox Valley and beyond.
Water Street Studios was awarded “Best Gallery” in 2019 by West Suburban Living Magazine and Kane County Chronicle.
