40th Illinois Watercolor Society National Exhibition

The Next Picture Show Gallery is pleased to welcome back the Illinois Watercolor Society National Exhibit on display from May 3-May 31, 2024. The show features more than fifty works of art by artists from the US, Canada, and beyond.
Juror of Selection and Awards: Lenin Delsol
Lenin Delsol attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago in the early
Eighties. An artist member of the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts since
the mid 80’s, he teaches, is a board member and participates and monitors
various open studios. eager to help other artists grow where upon request, the
artist gives critiques and advice. He’s an an avid draughtsman but his true
passion is painting. Watercolor, pastel and oil are his mediums of choice.
Currently he owns Envisionaire, Inc, an art studio in Chicago.
May 4th Demo & Reception | 1-4 p.m
Lenin Delsol will give a watercolor demonstration from 1-4 p.m., with the awards presentation to follow shortly after. CASH BAR for water, beer, and wine is available during the reception.
Free to the public!
The show is free and open to the general public during business hours. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 to 4 or by appointment.
About the Illinois Watercolor Society
The Illinois Watercolor Society was established in 1981 and the first exhibition took place in 1982 at
Glenview, Illinois. Today with over 190 members, IWS sponsors both a national show and a members’
invitational exhibit. IWS has also partnered with the Oak Brook Library and holds four meetings that feature demonstrations by nationally recognized artists which are free and open to the public.
