Best of Show to Sycamore-based artist, Carol Bingham, for her oil on canvas “Not a Drop of Rain”
Awards for the 17th Regional Survey of Art Exhibit have been announced with eight local and regional artists recognized in the first art show of the year now on display on the main level of the art gallery.
The Regional Survey of Art set a new record for TNPS with 95 pieces of art covering the walls of the art center. The exhibit offers a wide variety of mediums such as acrylic, alcohol ink, clay sculpture, cold wax & oil, colored pencil, digital photography, graphite pencil, oil on canvas, paper collage, charcoal, pastel, pen, and watercolor.
Awards judge, Ellen Allen, acknowledged the following artists for their entries.
Allen said, “It’s been exciting to judge this show and see how busy and productive these artists have been during a very trying time. A Regional Show, requiring no subject or media, demands that each piece be judged on its’ use of the medium to communicate and the success of that communication. I’d like to commend all of the artists.”
Chuck Cook & Melissa Spahn are sponsors of the exhibit, which is open for viewing until February 27 at 113 West First Street, Dixon, IL 61021.
Hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm.
